Thanks for asking Ronnie. We're OK here in Albany. We only got about 18 inches. My wife and I snow-blowed and shoveled 4 driveways last night. (Our own, and three neighbors). Took five hours. That stuff was HEAV-VY. Places, north and west of us, got up to 32 inches. Thousands are without power. We're pretty thankful we don't live in Oswego, that's near Syracuse. They've got around TEN Feet, on the ground. Todays Headline in our local paper says. "GROUNDHOG IS A LIAR":rofl :rofl This is only our second storm, of the season. Enough already.:rofl Skip:)

Hey Skip, how bad did it get around Herkimer. I was the Army recruiter there back in the early 80's.
I'm glad you and your family are safe a warm.

To think I rode the motorcycle on Jan. 1!!!!! To this. I thought we would have to pay for that nice weather we had. I now think we paid too much, and I want some nice weather back. I'm tired of snow blowing already. Make it STOP.
Ronnie, I'm coming down to Texas with you, as soon as I can retire.

Well , we are about 40 miles North of Skip. He got 18" in Albany and I got between 24 and 30" depends on where you measure it. I spent all day with the snowblower to clear this driveway. I think I burned out the belts again. I'll be at Advance tomorrow to buy the replacements. No power outages and we are toasty warm. Thanks for asking.
Oswego really got wacked bad.

I don't know about the rest of those guys but I'm snowblowing and staying home, nice and warm. I'll be going back to work today. I'm getting to old to fight the storms any more. Besides, there is nothing I do that is so important that I need to risk my life.
Stay warm, and remember, Spring is just around the corner.:rofl

After spending 2 to 3 hours at a time snow blowing. I don't feel much like going to work. To me it's not worth getting in a wreck to go to work. The wife works just a few miles away. She's been working.
It's still snowing as I type this with no signs of letting up. Another 9+ inches expected today. I have lived in this house 23 years. I have never had banks this high down the side of the driveway. It's getting to the point where the snow blower can't blow over the banks. I want spring here bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PAUL: I don't really know how much Herkimer got. They are west of here. I'm sure they got dumped on bad. JESTER:" there's nothing I do, that's so important, to risk my life" I hear you there, brother. Driving down I-87 in the snow, is not something I would want to do. When I worked in the campus (NYSDOL), I had friends that lived in Saratoga. Everyday, they would tell me, the crap the went on, trying to drive home, in Good weather.:rofl :rofl In 1982, they moved our print shop and stock room, to Menands. First to the Corcraft bldg. then to the old Montgomery Ward building. After I retired, they moved the remains of the printing unit, back to bldg. 12, in the campus.:dunno DON: I know what you mean about having so much snow, there's no place to put it. They said Albany got 18 in., but I live in Colonie, and I think we got more. All I know is, we can barely make it out our back door. My Chevy is parked in a Cover-It portable garage. I worried if the snow was gonna cause the roof to collapse. Luckily, when the sun came out, it started melting the snow, and it all slid to the ground.:clap :clap I guess we're just gonna tough it out, till spring gets here. :brow Skip:)

Robert, I'm in north Texas, near the Red River (Oklahoma border) Austin is way down south. Got a big domed building in the City. Probably went below freezing there last night. Your buddy should be comfortable there right now. Call him in August and check on his "well-being". :rofl :rofl

Hope everyone is OK with all this crazy weather...........:beerbang
If anyone remembers the the storm of Jan '99 ( the worst we've seen in over 20 years), well I think this (Goderich, Ontario) may be where it came from........
In that storm the mayor of Toronto called in the army to help clean things up...:clap
Well out here it snows almost everyday and the wind right off lake Huron seems to be relentless.
I am building a shop in a 23x35 red steel pole barn behind the house and I had to dig a trench to the barn and some days dig it back to the house to get home......
Well it's snowing again so it's back out to the shop.........where's that shovel?...............:cuss
:cheers

We had a break in the weather this past Saturday so my wife, Kim, and I drove the 61' up to the Olympic National Forest and had lunch at the Quinault Lodge. What a great drive. It was about 120 miles round trip. We hit a little mist on the way home but it was worth it. The car ran great and it sure felt good getting it out for the day.:clap :clap :clap
