Will a 400 HP aluminum intake fit a 348 ?

The 400 manifold is ported to fit the 409 690 and 583 heads. They may bolt up, but the ports won't match 348 heads..

They won't bolt up. We have a 340 horse 409 which came with the 348 heads. We didn't realize the difference and bought a 400 horse intake manifold for it. Much to our chagrin and disappointment, the bolts wouldn't line up between the head and manifold.

I don't think we fully answered the question in this thread. The high performance manifold will sort of bolt up to the smaller heads except for the bolt between the ports. But as Old School pointed out the ports don't match up. The high perf. ports are taller. But check out this link... http://www.348-409.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9306 Aubrey ported a set of small heads so that the ports matched.:deal I'm not sure what he did to fill the top hole on the heads but it's nice to see that a port match is possible. Many guys just plug the hole in the head, then bolt on the big intake and live with the mis-matched ports. It still works, just not as well.
