Working on my tri-power unit, and need help finding an electric choke for a 2GC carb. Anyone know if there is such a thing? My exhuast manifold does not have an inlet for an auto. choke.
Thanks so much.

The later model electric chokes fit in the 2G housing.

Not to sound too dumb, but could you give me an example? What would I be looking for?

I'm pretty sure the internals from a later carb like an Edelbrock will fit inside the original 2GC housing.

I do happen to have an Edelbrock elect. choke that was on the 4BBL that I removed from my '58 I will give it a try. That would be so cool if this works!
I'll let you know if it fits.
Thanks so much for the info.

I put an electric choke on mine and I believe it was for a Rochester Quadrajet carb. I know I got it at O'Rielly's and I took the old guts out of the choke and the parts man came up with the one thats fits mine. :) Roy

Nope, the edelbrock choke didn't work, the spring opened the wrong way and the tang on the spring didn't reach the choke lever inside. I'll go into town Mon. and check out some parts houses for a Rochchester choke,we'll see what happens. Thanks all !!

The bi-metallic spring is usually removable and reversable. This may help in locating a suitable replacement.:brow

saboo, Thanks. I think I will look into this as well.
Does anyone know if you can get a little bit more CFM out of the 2GC carbs?
