Otay! Time to get midevil!

Now that the front end is done - new brakes, tie rods and all that. I am redoing the firewall to make it look better. Basicly smoothing it out removed the heater and I am trying to figure out if I should use alumn sheeting to cover the holes and make another one for the drivers side so it looks equal OR weld in the panels.

Anyone else have a custom - DIY - firewall pics?

thanks

If you go to my site www.1960belair.com and click on the "Chassis After 2" link, there is a few pictures of what was done to mine. They basically welded up all the holes and smoothed everything out.

thanks

I just found a bunch of them a few minutes ago while looking for the firewall pictures. I have to go thru them and make sure of what I still have.

the new life of a Z 71 Chevy bedside. Not quite done but getting close. Did not fill in the holes but layed the sheeting over it incase I want to revert later on.
Once the rest is cleaned and the filler applied she will be smooth.

Thanks for the support!! After thinking the wiring through I have decided to put all of my electronics inside mounted on a plate and run the coild wire though the wall w/gromett. That way the new smooth firewall does not get clutered up. I should be done by Friday

I left that heater motor circle alone and used it to make passing nitrous lines and misc wiring thru to the pass side kick panel, then inside. The cover has three screws that hold it to the firewall, take two screws out and it swings out of the way. It leaves plenty of room to be able to reach in there.

Thanks! Took me longer than I thought, as usual, but will be worth it as some of the local shows. Yup I am behind Nut! Way behind! I hope to make Lakeview and the olddie but goodie drags in July. You going to the swap meet next month at Firebird?

It's a 60 chevy teal with a little metal flake in it. I took my carpet down and had them match it as close as possible. Some say's it green.
Really shines in the light. The motor will also be that color inside the black frame with a few bling items but nothing un godly.
