Now we all know Ray, or Fatride or Fathead as he is known, is a very respected memeber of this forum. He is proud of his 60 and is probably one of the most knowledgeable persons I know about the 3x2 carbureration setups. And of course, HE IS MOST PROUD OF HIS 60 FOOT TIMES!!!!!!

Well, I have a customer here in KC, who was just out, that I think might "daub it on his a**!!!!!!!:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

598 cubic inch big block

868 HORSEPOWER

780 foot/pounds of torque on 92 octane fuel..........WITHOUT THE NITROUS!!!!!!

The car is just awesome!! Believe it has a tube chassis with a funny car roll cage, 400TH and 4:56 Dana 60 series rearend. Bob is building it JUST TO DRIVE!!!! Look at the 4" chopped top!!!!

He had some pictures and I don't have a scanner so this is just a picture with my camera of his color photo. Bob will have the car done this summer and he will run it down the track at The Super Chevy event here in KC in August. I asked him if I could drive it!!!! Don't know if I will ever see him again!!!!:rofl :rofl :rofl

The car is just bit*hin'!!!!!!!!!!

So, Ray....if Bob says I can drive......can you bring your Impala down to KC in August????!!!!:dunno :dunno

868 hp does not scare Ray. Ray fears no man. A few gin and tonics and Ray can take on the World. Go git em , Ray!!! I'm right behind ya.... Wa-a-a-y behind ya. :beerbang :beerbang

Phil, of course you will be dialing in and Ray will be at the 1/8 mile before that RED 60 starts.

Phil I went to a cruise in at the Steak and Shake last summer and there came in a street driven car like that red sixty. It was a Chevy II with 871 huffed big block and stunk highly of race gas. I asked him if he drove it on the street often and he said all the time. When he left my wife and I left shortly and he was two blocks away loading it on a trailer.:rofl I wonder if that red 60 runs on 91 octane? :p Roy

Boy, Shannon............you got that right!!!

Assuming that I would be given an opportunity to drive Bob's 60...this is what would happen...........Ray would have finished the race, would have time to re-ring the 348, completely gone thru the carbs, rebuilt the posi unit, completely funded his IRA and watched his grandchilren get married!!!!!:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

But..................I would have a smile that would last the rest of my life!!!!:rofl :rofl

there must be alot of big inch engines roaming the streets now days.!

You know the saying,,,
There is no replacement for dis-placement !!!

These BIG inch engines are just amazing !!!
You don`t have to have a super radical cam to get mega horse power so they act really good on the street and reallywild on the strip !!!

Add a little juice and man-O-man !!!!,,dq

Phil, Ray's 348????? Boy, that was cold. I would expect Ray will have " paybacks " on that one. Lest we forget, Bob Walker Jr. has first shot at Ray. Amazing how close Bob Walker's dyno numbers are to that of the red 60 model. Hope they both show up somewhere at the same time. Need to include Mike Casella also...... That would be something to see!!!

I'll be at Eddyville Raceway on July 14th if anyone wants to come out and play. That's about the only long distance ride for us so far.
