Hey,
I have a 1963 impala 409. It has electric windows. The electric windows have stopped working. Where can I get a wiring diagram that includes the electric windows?? All fuses in the fuse panel are good.

If ALL the windows are not working, first wiggle the single red wire plug on the firewall above the 2 main plaugs and try it. If that doesn't work, remove the left lick panel and short the contacts on the breaker that's ccrewed to the brace. If the windows work, replace the breaker.

One item is to check is the red wire connection at the battery post on the solenoid to make sure it's in good condition and that power is at the firewall connection before "wiggling" be careful with that connection while "wiggling" that you don't break the tabs that are probably brittle with heat and age.

Thanks for the reply. I have found to plugs in the engine compartment just below the windshield wiper motor, are you refering to these? also mentioned was behind the kick plate, is this correct?
Thanks,
Bill

The red wire goes into the underdash area at above the wire harness area(on the firewall). This wire supplies the high amp power needed by the breaker that is under the l/s kick panel. The breaker supplies each of the windows power. That is why I suggested starting with the connection of the red wire at the solenoid then moving to the firewall connection then to the breaker. These wires have been subject to alot of heat and movement in the starter area and might not be allowing full amps to reach the breaker. The firewall connector might be corroded and that was the reason for the "wiggle" suggestion. Just start at the source and work your way to the switch panel. Fun Huh?
