I just had to share this with someone that knows about this cars. I woke up early this morning to try and win a 1964 Impala convertible on eBay. Well, its early for me but I did win it.:brow However, I already got put down a couple of times for my purchase and I haven't even to the OLD LADY. This is my 2nd 64 Impala convertible but this one is not a rare one as my other numbers matching 409 which I don't want to make any changes to keeps its value up there.:deal This one will allow me to play a little bit more. I might even turn it into a clone 409 SS convertible since its neither.:cheers I think i'll have more fun with this one. It looks like a light project to me but my friends around here have said that they wouldn't of paid more than $500, it needs too much work, can that thing be put back together, Is that a car? , and other comments that just made me keep my JOY to my self. Then I remember my buddies at 348-409. They'll know I got a good deal and plus all I need to do to it i've done to my 409. I had a guy offering me another 64 Impala here in Houston for $15,500 that the top had a small tear, the paint is something I didn't like, the interior was old looking, and the top radiator hose wasn't connected to the radiator which I figured it need some engine work.:scratch And its seating on 20 inch FOOSE wheels which is not my style. So I figured I saved ALOT because I was planning on buying it. So am I right or it was a bad deal?

Leave it just as it is, but put a 409 in it and go hunting Euro racers.

not bad from what I see. That's an "Easy" fix compared to some east coast cars I have seen.

Tic's is right. Sheet metal looks good! Some of the stuff on this coast is near trash. The 62 all door I picked up recently didn't have a rust free panel on it. :doh

Astro, It 's always a good deal if you are happy with it. From the bid history, it appears others were willing to pay almost as much, which in my opinion means you did okay. You got it--- they did not. With your paint and body business, this type of damage is minor but to others it looks major. You can modify the white car any way you like and still have your original car safe and sound. Sounds like the best of both worlds. Congratulations on your buy. Good luck,,,,,,,,:)

Bubbletop1961 you said the word i've been called all day "NUTS". I thank you guys because to me your opinions are the ones that count when it comes to this beauties.:beerbang Most of my friends here in Houston can't see the potential of this car.:doh I have done all that this car needs to my 409 Impala but since they never saw him in the process some actually think all I did was throw my wheels on.:scratch As if it held on that good looking over the 40+ years of its life.:rofl

:rofl you call that a project?!?!? :rofl

seriously...this is another east coaster green with envy. You won't find one over here unrestored with a trunk that looks like that! The box braces behind the rear wheels are the first to go and they rot their way into the upper trunk area.

Have fun with it!!

Just to keep it in perspective. There is a 1964 Impala convertible for sale near here and I saw it Saturday, $50,000. Black with black interior, white top 425Hp 409 with 4 speed. So you have a lot to play with.:brow Roy
