I started with an insurance write off, bare hull that had a hole in it. It now has a sweet 383 stroker, 2.02 ported heads, trick exhaust, Volvo 290 leg, all new inside right down to the electric flush toilet....... just a few thousand hours !!!
The Suburban came from the original owner, 454, 1 ton suspension, 3.73 posi, and no one had sat in the back seat until I got it....... hard on gas but does a great job pulling a 9,000 lb boat.

Some nice pics of this dynamic duo! Looks like...and sounds like that boat means business.

Always wanted to take my Dad out on one these boats..we did alot of fishing together...but only from a shoreline. Must be quite a rush...especially looking at that last photo!

How did you end up cooking that fish? BBQ, fried, baked, smoked????

A guy I used to work with caught quite a bit of salmon when he had time..he filleted them, soaked the fillets in some special marinade (incl.brown sugar) and put them in a smoker box that he built. (Used hickory chips)....That fish was incredible. My Dad used to use a similar smoker for ....get this....eel.... (salt water).:D

Thanks Ron,
That fish was 47 lbs. and there was enough that some got BBQ'ed, baked, fried & smoked..... salt, maple syrup, sesame seed oil & brown sugar....... :deal :D

The boat does mean business...... with the torque it has it will jump onto plane in a few seconds with less than 1/2 throttle. The only time the 4 barrel has been open is when I want to play....... my trick exhaust is 454 risers mounted with a custom made adapter, installed on the 350 mercruiser manifolds which are backwards. Sounds silly but then the exhaust comes out the top front of the manifolds. Two 3" 45 degree elbows and a 3" X 28" marine muffler on each side then out through the transom just above the waterline........ it sounds almost as good as a 409 with 2 1/2" flowmasters........ ;) .... if you get on it it can be heard for 1/2 a mile on the water although it's not loud it is just as you said......... she means business.........

I quite honestly don't know how fast it will go........:dunno I've had it close to 50 MPH @ 4000 RPM and we know what a balanced 383 stroker will rev to......... I won't be driving it........

The real beauty is that the fuel consumption is 60% of other boats its size because you never have to get on it......... 1/3 throttle is all you need...... and at that it usually walks away on most.......

DAVE: My guess on your boat would be low 60's if propped to top out at 5,600-5,800. That's assuming the 50 MPH is close. I am assuming also that the drive is in the stock location and not raised. With that heavy of a boat I can't imagine the drive would be "jacked". I doubt you would reach hull speed under those conditions especially if you had a slight chop to get air under the "V". Soooo... nail the heck out of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) :) :)

Hey Robert, the leg hasn't been raised.......... I've only had it that fast once and once was enough........ my eyes don't see much faster than 25 - 30 MPH. We have a fair bit of driftwood here that comes down the Fraser River and I really don't want to fix another hole!!!!

Well Phil...... the boat hasn't made it to Alaska waters yet...... but pretty close. I don't know about this best friend stuff ...... I've been told that friends usually cost time or money........ I could always spend the money on another 409 and use the time to finish my car........ Why would anyone want friends ????????
:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

and that is one ugly fish !!!!!
