Not a hobby but an interest.

I usually put in alot of hours during the week and work weekends. I take Friday night off and go looking for a movie or two.

We had an earlier thread on motorcycles...so here's a movie that I thought was entertaining.

On a scale of 1 to 10. I gave this one an 8.0.

"The World's Fastest Indian" - Starring Anthony Hopkins. I've always regarded Hopkins to be one of the best character actors and he does a great job with this film.

The story centres around a 1920 Indian motorcycle...the rider... and a land speed record.

Always was a big fan of Harley Davidson and Indian Motorcycles. My grandfather had a few Harleys.

Definitely a future classic. I bought the DVD the day it was released.

An outstanding movie indeed...Hopkin's must be a gearhead at heart to have portrayed the character so well. The eccentricity and the practicality all rolled into this character was classicall stuff. If any of you guys haven't seen it, you will enjoy the couple of hours immensely.

Great movie. I watched it with my daughter-in-law who is a lady fire-fighter and is from New Zealand.

In the Dec 1962 issue of HOT ROD magazine there is a picture of Bert Munro and the Indian motorcycle and Anthony Hopkins actually looks like Bert. (pg 48)

In the movie he casts his own pistons and I read somewhere that he made cylinder sleeves out of cast iron sewer pipe.

It's a really good movie.:beerbang

I have been begging a certain member from K.C., Mo. to rent and watch this movie. Maybe after he finishes restoration on his newly acquired ragtop, he will find time to watch it. :dunno :dunno
