need axle help 59-64

62 belair right rear axle. Got new Moser axles for the 62. Right rear appears to be a touch too long. What I need is a couple of dimentions from a known to fit axle and bearing. I need the length from the tip of the splined end to the outside face of the Bearing. And the distance from the outside face of the bearing to the outside face of the wheel flange. Seems as if the axle is about a quarter inch too long on the right. Goes in and stops short of the outer o-ring and sounds like it is bottomed out. Should I get the hacksaw out? Thanks in advance

Did you upgrade to the 30 spline spiders and axles. The reason I ask is the cross pin dimension is greater on the 30 spline. I had to shorten both of my axles to fit. I had them made to stock dimension. My fault for not checking first. :doh If you need stock dimension, I can go the shop and measure my 62 axles. Just let me know.

59-64 axles were :
Left 29 1/2
Right 30 1/2

58 was:
Left 28 9/16 open
28 13/16 posi
Right 30 open
30 5/16 posi

I need the dimention from tip of spline end to outer face of bearing and Outer face of bearing to outer flange surface to see of the axle is too long or the bearing cut is too far out. Thanks anyhow. YES I still need those dimensions if you can get them for me.Is it posible that the posi cross shaft has moved when I installed the left side axle? Ridden up on one of the ramps? Can't really check on anything till I know the new axle is correct or not.

From outer wheel flange to tip of splines is 30.5". I am leaning toward the posi cross shaft being twisted a little.

1962 posi axle length. 30 3/8 from face of axle flange to end of axle. 2 1/4 face of axle flange to outer face of bearing outer face of bearing to end of axle 28 1/8 I'm going home now, its late! Hope this helps!:beerbang

That's the numbers I am lookiing for. Gave the orig. axles to a guy in one of the car clubs here. He picked them up this morning and I have no way to contact him till next meeting.
