It looks a lot like the one we have in the shop and the one Rusty has in his Belair. Lamar is my bet.

I think maybe what this engine needs more than anything else, is to be in MY possession. That's a Walden piece if ever I saw one.:cool:

I have a complete 409 engine, block #3830814 which is also the same block number as the 427. The heads are the 330hp heads. So I am wondering if the same block was used on the 409? Or is this shortblock actually a 427? It is still all together and am wondering what to do with it. If the same block was used on the 409, I am wondering what the production numbers are?
I would appreciate some help on this matter.

That same block was used on 1963 409's also. The bore size is a little bigger on a 427 block.

Hi... I have a 1963 Impala SS with a 1965 409 in it. I am looking for a 1963 409 motor , are you looking to sell or just need info... I know a little about the 409 if you have any more questions I am joe5763...Thanks...Joe5763
