I need a little info/help, I'm getting ready to rebuild the front and rear suspensions (as well as the brakes) on my '62 convertible ,My question is if the polygraphite bushings are worth instaling? Is there a noise/squeaking issue? or should i stick with the rubber pieces? while it's apart, all suspension pieces are getting powder coated, and i will be installing an air suspension. I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

Junior, I use regular replacement bushings in the front and polygraphite in the rear. Seems to work real well, but I have no experience with air suspension.

I used PST polygraphite bushings all the way around my 62 and can't say I've had any problems. But if I was doing it again I think I'd stick with factory style rubber bushings in the front end because I think they might last longer. I do think the poly bushings might be worth using for the the front sway bar.

I haven't seen a car yet that has poly bushings that don't squeak and pop out of place. I read claims of composite type bushings that supposedly eliminate these problems but I would never use anything but the factory style rubber bushings. The front A-arm bushings are the same from 1955 to 1970, and are quite inexpensive. I'm sure others may have had success with these but that's what my experiences have been.

I have the poly bushing in the rear suspension of the 60. I placed them in the rear for performance issues. No experience with the front bushings. No problems with the rear bushings after many miles on the road and many passes down the track.

I just purchased Energy Suspension's Poly for the rear, and to my surprise I found I needed to retain the old orginal shells, which of course are long gone. Anyone poviding these shells, or bushings with shells ?????? AZ409

Maybe buy the Stock rubber bushings and just use the metal part. Should be realy cheap. My new fronts were only around $9 a side from NAPA. I hope the stock bushings come with the metal part you need.
