It seems that some Novas back in 65 just made too much power, especially if it had a Z11 409 (427) in it
my error- he had wrecked the z11 nova and this is a 65 nova stroked bbc with hilborn inj 60-80% fuel

Notice the caption under the right hand picture....."Basic 427 engine was bored .060" over"!!!!!!! They refer to a Z-11 as a "basic 427"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the late 80's I built, and raced "The Living Legend" Z-11 clone drag car which was featured in many magizines, including the lovely "Miss Linda V" leaning on the aluminum fenders at Raceway Park, admiring my dual quads as I admiried hers! The Z-11 heads and intake I purchased in MO were said to be Harrells? I'm sure Dick had more than one set. I forget the casting date but remember it was an early one. The car went to Canada and was restored back to original, then Classic Corvettes and Collectables in Tarpon Springs, Fl advertised the car for $80,000 !! Damn! The Z-11 top half are still on the car. I wrote a book five years ago about growing up in the 50's and 60's and racing the 409's, Corvettes and first loves which I'll send a copy to anyone that's interested. Just drop me an e-mail
