Dads dream Bubbletop!!

I got to start by saying i got my love for my 61 from my father! all he ever talked about was his from the younger years. plus how he kicks himself for selling it, and selling it cheap. I heard this story over and over again and the more i looked at the car i realized he was right by saying it has some of the coolest body lines out there. Just one of those cars that catches the eye. I recently owned a 1955 chevy truck that was ready to start a resto project but could never get the 61 off my mind, Knowing how hard they were to find (well in my parts) i still looked and finally came across one in ohio back in 2008. We spent 2-3 hours looking at the beast in the poring rain during the 12 hour trip and finally brought it home. The build has been a slow progress due to some changes in my life, like a beautiful baby girl of mine who is now 18 months old. And i cant forget a new job which has been pretty awesome on its own. put them together and it definitely makes it hard to get garage time, No complaints though!! The sucky part is my right hand man my FATHER is not doing the greatest health wise. He has been on a medium to downward spiral for a while now and seems to have plateaued instead of getting better like we would wish. Its pretty hard seeing him that way and makes me wanna push harder and harder every day to finish the 61 so i can see him behind the wheel after so many years. I know it would make his dreams come true, and most likely bring a man tear to his eye! This build is for me but mainly for my father, even though he was never a huge mechanical car guy he loved them and encouraged me to go and learn from who ever and as much as i could! he stands behind me 110% in everything....well except some chrome parts he wanted to keep!! HAHA. so anyways he is a few pics and i will try to keep them posted as soon as i get them!!

working with and spending time with your parents (father) is priceless. Just as priceless as that new baby. Keep working hard and enjoy the time you have with them and the car. Goodluck Scott Hall Here's some of mine and Dad's projects together.

Best of luck with your father/son project:clap:clap It looks to be going along great. I too am doing a '61 Bel/Air bubbletop with my son. A picture of the '61 is in my album. My prayers are with you for your dad's health. He will get to see it in plenty of time. Please post more pictures as you go forward with the build.

:crazy:cheers

My son's '61 is kinda in the planning stage right now. I scored a '64 348 out of the local farmers potato truck. That motor is getting dismantled and will be sent out for machine work as soon as junior can scare up some funds. We are in the midst of rounding up everything 348 & '61 Bel-Air for it.

It's on the back burner right now because my '57 drag car/street car project takes priority. Not too much more to get it finished. Also waiting for some funds. The complete story as of today can be found in the earlier posts here in "Builds & Projects " K9hotrodder project build.

:crazy:cheers
