Hi,
My partner and I bought this 62, last July off of E-bay, it was something I had almost bought new in 62, and my partner had a 62 Impala 409 in the mid 60's that he just loved. We could have bought one all ready done, but you know yourself, its the project that is the most fun, talking and seeing friends that like cars. We had just sold our 56 chev conv. so we had some extra cash, but never thought it would be as expensive as it has turned out. I suppose I should have bought a better car to start with.....lol.
:scratch these are the pictures we have been taking along the journey. Our 409 motor is at the machine shop waiting for new pistons and a complete rebuild, its a QB 62 with 2x4's. Hope to see you at the Sept convention.
:doh

100_1420.JPG 100_1421.JPG 100_1422.JPG Thanks guys, a little encouragement goes a long ways. I just keep looking at the body and it gets me down. But... my mother always said, be patient young man. So I've decided to clean up the 67 Camaro and start going to a few car rally's Friday nights.

:idea

It coming right along,,, looks like you're doing a first class job. :clap
It looks like most of the real grunt work is done, I find it really starts to get fun at the stage you're getting to now.
It's going to be a nice car! :beer

Great project car. It's looking very nice. Don't let the condition of the body and the work needed on it get you down. All of the cars I start with are in much worse condition than yours. I wish I had something that nice to start with. Looks like the major work is already done. Can't wait to see the finished pictures!

My partner Barry thought the welding wagon up. Its been a lot of fun so far, and when we get going on the BODY, that will really inspire us.
I don't think the car will be done by late Sept, but if it is, Im going to trailer it out there, you can bet your beer's
on that. I will be there, with, or without the car. Can't wait to hear the 'ROAR" of those "409" cars, and meet the guys from the Forum.:cheers

Update on progress of 62. Have just got back from the sandblasters and have the final parts blasted.
The body and a few extra parts we're going to use in the rust repair job. The rear Tail-pan, brace under-neathe it, the two upper sides of the trunk area, where they all rot out, well most of them anyway, and
some work on the cowl area. Here's some of the pictures, might just bring it to the Convention as is. lol100_1431.JPG100_1432.JPG100_1433.JPG100_1434.JPG100_1435.JPG100_1436.JPG
