Closed the deal. I happen to have a 454/400. To make matters worse, LA Rods aka James kicked sand in my face requesting a race sometime. Before I'm as old as Phil I better get to working on this tub. Nate can i borrow your blower?
I bought it sight unseen. I gave up some money and am trading some Harley parts. Turns out the seller and I know several of the same people. They all said he's a good guy. He said it needs some metal work. My plan is to drop in the 454 and drive it until I'm ready to do metal. Is metal is BAD then I'll rotisseri it and make it strong enough for a 8-71.
I'll buy the little puffer and the headers but was hoping to BORROW the 6-71!!
Baby steps Don, Baby steps. Unless you got one to trade for Harley parts!
I have to finish bodywork, paint and reassembly of a '67 El Camino then I'll pull the '63 BA into the garage. I doubt it will be ready this year for street service but one never knows. Still have full quarter to replace and full paint job on my '67 barracuda also. We may be going to 12 hour days with 3 & 4 day rotation cycles too. If that happens I'll have more garage time anyway.
BTW Tom I'm pretty sure James gave me 4 car lengths against BA409.
Look's like, it's gonna be a Fun project, wristpin. You will definitely, need a 9" rear. That 454, with near 500 lb. ft. will spit that 8.2 out like a grenade.
