NHRA's ban on nitromethane wasn't lifted until '63. In 62 Dodge worked a deal with Garlits to run their wedge super/stock engine in a top/gas dragster. The late Hemi didn't come out until '64, and then only as factory race cars. Street Hemi offered to the public came in '66.

..........thanx Dave........didn't know about that deal with Dodge on the wedge.......:read........must've broke Garlits' heart when he couldn't run his 392 Hemis.............:confused
