Sometimes we all get a “wild hair”. I got one today and bought the old proverbial barn find.
It’s a 32 Ford 3 Window all steel original Henry car with rumble sets.
The last time it was registered was 1967 in Alaska!
I figured since Phil is always raiding Texas I would pick off something from his second home:)
In full disclosure, the car was built in Texas, taken to Alaska, then moved back here and has been setting since 1967-68.
It’s powered with a original 64 Corvette 327 365 HP with a Muncie 4 speed.

Now, I’m going to use the car to begin the process of teaching one of my grandsons how to build a car. In this process I will do the frame off stuff, but I think I’m going to pull the 327 and put in a 409 I have with Algon FI.
My question is who has updated one of the Algon units to a modern day system.

Great find Pat.
You could make some 64 Corvette owner very happy if the VIN numbers are still on the block. Both the Corvette Forum and the NCRS have sticky threads for posting info for re-uniting parts with their original cars.
Thanks Cecil.

I called the Southwest Regional Director of NCRS, a guy I know, he said the same thing, he is going to call some of his friends.

Interesting the pad only has F0418RE on it but no serial number.

I’m going to check the Muncie because it seems they always have a serial number.

Casting dates on the heads are 64.

Any thoughts on the Algon rebuild?

With no VIN on the pad it was either an over the parts counter crate engine or an R code 250 hp 3 speed block that someone added the E to make it an RE 365 .
