But is a truck pulley a different diameter than a car pulley?

My friend just installed a truck 348 into his 59 Impala. My question about the crank pulley, it sits very very close to the crossmember, is a truck pulley a larger diameter than a car pulley?? And is there anywhere he can get a smaller diameter pulley??. Thnaks,Mike

another thing, it dosent do it all the time, as weird as it sounds, its mainly only at night.

its not a constant pop.pop.pop.pop, out of the carb, its a pop......pop......pop, but i re-adjusted the timming today, and it got alot better, not really popping anymore.

it starts right up, and runs great at idle, smooth, and maintains a steady rpm, its just at high rpm...is it too retarded or too advanced that causes popping through the carb...afb's, no its 3x2 rochesters....also, im thinking maybe after 4 years the pertronix might be going bad????

my car is running like crap, for the past week or so...its pretty good off the line, but on the highway it sounds like a blub, blub, blub, out of the exhaust, then when i get on it, at high rpm's it pops thru the carb...??????? any help please????..., thanks,mike

ok, heres the break down of my COMPLETE rebuild.... NEW: cam, lifters, rings, bearings, pistons, freeze plugs, timming set, gaskets, valves, springs, va;ve seals and guides, push rods, oil pump and pick up... RECONDITIONED: rods, crank...MACHINE WORK: block bored, line honed, crank ground 10/10...

i just had my 348 COMPLETELY rebuilt over the winter, with some minor head work and a isky cam, it cost me $2000.

im running the isky 262 with no problems, and good power

LOL, i know they are ugly, but its a necesity...the fan blade will hit the frame, it will chop up my trans cooler lines that are located on the bottom of the radiator, and will hit my lower hose...my motor sits real low in the frame, and the water pump pulley sits down at the lower half of the...

anyone????
