    Belair Interior Packages

Where are you guys getting your Belair Interior kits these days? I need one for a 64 Belair in Black. My normal go to place is Ciadella, they are doing one in Red for my 62 Bubbletop, but don’t have the 64 Belair cloth or pattern. What’s next best? Cars, Hubbards, Show Cars? Help! Thanks!

Looking For Good Body Shop (KY, OH, WVA area)

Thanks! I know what to look for as I done this work myself for 40 years myself, just lost my garage and hoping to find some good recommendations. Most of the older resto shops in my area have switched to insurance based, collision repair work - too much money to be made bolting on cheap...

Looking For Good Body Shop (KY, OH, WVA area)

Restoring a 62 Bubbletop. I am looking for a good quality, reputable body shop to remove and install both quarters, trunk, and full floors. I have all the new sheet metal. I would also like them to paint the body and finish it ready for assembly. I have the frame done, new interior...

The HF ones are mechanical, not hydraulic. I bought a set when they first started selling them and they work great. Very handy. You have to be selective with stuff you buy at HF, but these work great!

    Lug nut socket

You can use 6 point metric sockets on some of those capped nuts and they work a little better.

    Lamar Walden 1000hp 409

Rob Walden and Jim Smith at LWA just built me a 482 for the old Biscayne. With a 9 inch Ford, Mark Wilson headers, electric 3 1/2 cutouts, and a HD Muncie, I can’t wait to fire that thing up! They claim this one will reach 650 hp! They know their stuff. Watch Rob run a replica of his Dad’s...

    Sandblasting

I found 2 replacement hips - sure not at swap meet prices - but they work great!

I use medical grade masks masks approved for hospital wear (I work in healthcare). They are N95. Little more expensive than others but you can’t buy new lungs. You can get them at some pharmacies or on-line via Amazon. Look for 3M 8511 - Cool Flow. 10 in a box for $13.28.

    Crankshaft problem

Just fill the space behind the bearing and the hole with axle grease and use an old pilot shaft or alignment tool and it should shove it out.

    Priming a rebuilt 348

I've seen that problem before and rotated the distributor and turned the motor over and made it work, when I know that the rear bearing was right. Phil's point was well made cause that is often a problem when inexperienced shops put those motors together. Glad the tool worked. My old cut off...

    Crankshaft problem

The grease method works perfectly - but nothing hurt by just leaving it in there!

    Sandblasting

Back in the 80's I did a lot of blasting one summer with silica sand with little use of a mask. Stupid! I've always worried about that catching up with me, but nothing so far! Keep praying! I only use Black Beauty now in my cabinet and my hopper. It is a tad more abrasive but does not have...
