61pontiac
This Canadian only built 1961 Pontiac Parisienne Convertible was manufactured using the same chassis and drive train as the Chevrolet Impala Convertible. Powered by the 283 ci 170 hp V8 with powerglide automatic. The sheet metal, taillamps and heavy chrome parts are the same as the American Built Ventura model. Badging was unique to the Canadian Parisienne only. As it did not share the American wide track chassis the wheels tended to look as though they where inboard too far from the fender edges. Priced in the Chevrolet range but with Pontiac upscale appeal these Canadian Pontiacs enjoyed immense popularity and were the number two seller in the Canadian market.
