    '58 Impala E-P accessory code

Could anyone advise what accessory code E-P is on a '58 Impala I recently purchased? E is tinted glass, which the car has, but not sure what the -P is. Padded dash? Thanks in advance. Allan

Brain cramp….. I meant flex plate. That was the information I was looking for. Thanks! I wasn’t planning on using the adapter, unless I had to if I had gone with the iron Powerglide.

    348 Transplant: Transmission Suggestions

So..... I ended up picking up a rebuilt TH 350. Now everything will probably sit until this winter. a couple of questions right now.... the flywheel I have for a '58 V8 car would work with the TH350..... and I'd use a starter for a '58 V* car? Thanks in advance.

Plus it allows me at some point to run a tri-power like on my Impala…… which I hadn’t thought about. For what I’m going to use the car for, I think the Turbo 350 makes the most sense. Do I need to move the crossmember if using a Turbo 350?

The rebuild invoice lists the cam as CC54? It also appears the only rear differential ratio available with a Powerglide was a 3.36 Thanks.

I've got the V8 Powerglide from my parts car, but I'm really thinking a 700R4 is the way to go. I was hoping to use the rebuilt Rochester 4 Jet that came with the engine? Thanks again for all the comments/advice.

    348 Transplant: Transmission Suggestions

Thanks for all the comments. The Powerglide is working fine and appears to have been rebuilt (based on looks.... but who knows), and I have a V8 adapter from a V8 car I'm parting out. Just thinking I'd be better off going with a more modern transmission? If I do go with a 700R4, is there any...

    348 Transplant: Transmission Suggestions

I've recently purchased a '58 Parisienne that is a 261 & Powerglide car. I've picked up a rebuilt '61 Pontiac 348 and will be doing an engine swap soon. It's my understanding the 6 cylinder Powerglide will not work with the 348? What would be recommended for a transmission? Aluminum Powerglide...

The direction this thread is going, I’ve changed the title. If a moderator could move it to the 58 - 65 full size forum, that would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I do have those trim pieces. Thanks though. I don’t think the trim from a 2 door will fit. The El Camino is longer as its on the station wagon platform so the quarter trim needs to be El Camino or 2 door station wagon....... I believe.

I was lucky enough to find the two lower long trim pieces and they’re on their way to STL. The car came with the fin chrome (3 pieces on each side, 2 on the door and a long piece on the quarter. I do need new clips for the upper and lower trim pieces. Any suggestions where to buy them? Happy...

I’ve picked up all the missing trim with the exception of two pieces on the rear of the car. One on the tailgate and one on the driver‘s quarter.
