Just a follow up. The brakes worked out great and it stops 100% better than it did with the old brakes. The more I do to this car, the more I like driving it. The 90/10 shocks on the front end made a huge difference in the way it drives. The old front shocks were completely blown out.

Finally installed the disc brake kit I bought from Mike a few months back. Quick and easy job installing the kit. Everything needed is included and all bolted together as it should. The worst part of this job is running the new lines from the master cylinder. The stock configuration runs the...

I probably will not put any springs on and fabricate a hood support rod. Even the weak springs wind up putting a bow in the sides of the hood after time( past experience). The stock hood easily weighs three times the weight of this bolt on hood ( and they do a lighter pin on). And yes, I have...

Finally got around to put my new hood on the car. Can't say enough about how well this Glasstek hood is made and how well it fits. Longest part of the job was making the template to drill the holes to install the front molding and bowtie. Nice to buy an after-market part(especially fiberglass)...

Glad you got it up and running and made it to the Good Guys show. One of those deals if you didn't make it, it's a year to the next one (unless you have the time to travel). Have fun.

Always a good thing when you take it apart and can see what the problem was . That is a lot of work to go through for a flywheel that was not machined or made correctly. You really have to be careful buying after-market parts today. So many of them are junk from the get go. Glad you found the...

1962 Bel Air Bubble Top 409 Project

The reason I thought it may be the wrong throw out bearing was that he had tried 2 clutch rods. One was 2 inches longer and if he installed that in the car to make up for the wrong( short) throw out bearing, that could have over-extended that fork which may have caused the retainer to jump off...

1962 Bel Air Bubble Top 409 Project

One thing I see is that the clutch fork was either not in place or jumped out and bent the retainer that holds the fork against the ball. Possibly caused by a wrong length throw-out bearing, or jumped off when something fell apart in the pressure plate. I have no experience with the Center Force...

Put the front seat in tonight. 100%improvement over the bucket seats. Now I look over the steering wheel instead of through it.
