I’ve thought about why the fenders were marked “409” on the inside and upside down. The only reason I can come up with is possibly to tell someone on the line to punch the holes in the fender for the 409 emblems?

Hey James. Yes it did. I was very surprised to find the markings when I removed the fenders. They had never been off before. I had the 409 marker reapplied after the fenders were painted.

Thank you. My friend is a master body man and he made this possible. Yes I have driven it a bit already and had a few little things to fix this winter like the clock, speedo and carbs adjustment. It’s a blast to drive. I do plan to drive it more and show it this year.

Hey guys. I was able to takes some close up pics of the “409” written on the inside of my passenger fender. As mentioned before, this car has never been apart or repainted so interesting to see all the odd grease pen markings and numbers.

Thanks! Yes after primer, we will be separating from the frame and putting the body on a rolling dolly. The frame will go on the rotisserie for blast and paint with epoxy, then it will come off the rotisserie and the body will go on the rotisserie for bottom paint and final paint. While that’s...
