Is there a X on the front of the block? I think truck blocks had one. they had nickel in them to make them stronger.

I may be all wet with this but here goes. I've heard of air getting trapped in the lifter oil gallery can lead to a noise that comes and goes. An old engine builder once told me of a case he that. He used to use plugs in the front that had tiny holes to let air out, and oil timing chain.

Back in the late 60's I put a 427 in a 64 Impala. I used a hyd. clutch because of the fenderwell headers I used.. Worked just fine. Did a lot of drag racing with it. Never a problem. Car got stolen while I was in military over seas.

Hi Rodrick, welcome to site. I built a 65 Biscayne into a Gasser for Nostalgia drag racing. The engine is a 65 truck 348. Which is now 440 . The car gets a lot of attention. Also runs strong. ( best time 7.57 in 1/8, but their is more to be had if I want). This is car before I put engine in.

The Gasser Racing Series has no schedule for Empire yet.( that we know of) But that television ad he has shows some for the cars from our series. Will sad if our Gold Cup goes belly up this year.

Forgot, I shift at 4800 . Car is 350 auto. Going to rise shift point to 5200 this year. Not sure what rpm is going through lights. To busy seeing where other guy is !!! But about 5600.

I picked up a brand new Offenhauser dual quad manifold and only number on it is 360. I'm thinking of putting on my car. It came with 2 new carbs too. I run the car in a nostalgia gas class.

I used a comp cam with (installed specs) Intake 242 exhaust 246 @.050. Lobe separation is 110. The card says gross lift of intake .595 and .605 exhaust duration @ .020 tappet lift 272 intake and 276 exhaust. valve timing is open at 11 degrees Btdc and closes at 51 degrees Abdc. for intake...

I heard the new owner has already made some changes. Made burn out boxes longer and did something about the drainage problem.
