Jim, I still have your shorty headers here. Would you like me to ship them to you?

    348 Fresh off the Dyno

Well, here is the video of Big Jim's 409: http://www.flickr.com/photos/borowskirace/8163392277/in/photostream You may notice the engine moving a lot in the video, the movement is actually the cameras being affected by the vibration and harmonics in the dyno room. Also, the oil breather cap...

    348 Fresh off the Dyno

I believe the heads are a 690 casting, if not, Jim will let us know. They have been ported previous to coming to Borowski's, but we did not flow them. Trying to wring more power out of this beast, we cranked and cranked on Jim's Variable Displacement Control knob to no avail. Clever idea, but...

    348 Fresh off the Dyno

Nothing like the sounds of a finely tuned 409 for breakfast! Jim's dual quad 409 ran very well, sounded absolutely superb, and make some impressive numbers as well. This engine has 9.3-1 compression which is nearly 2 points lower than the 11.0-1 compression that it was born with. Jim is also...

This idles smooth, made great torque and it's a perfect cruiser cam. The car it is destined for has power brakes and air conditioning, so making alot of torque was...

    348 Fresh off the Dyno

Thanks for all of the kind words gentlemen, we certainly appreciate hearing them. We are certainly looking forward to seeing how Big Jim's 409 does this morning. Jim has been a great customer, and he genuinely cares about the well being of his 409. Charlie

    348 Fresh off the Dyno

Here are some pics of a 348 we just finished: http://www.flickr.com/photos/borowskirace/sets/72157631466382842/ This little engine made 383 hp, and 381 ft lb of torque. We were happy, considering that this is only 353 inches. Obviously we utilized Edelbrock heads, a custom hydraulic roller cam...

A nice guy from the west coast named Jack sent us to this forum. Seems like a very intelligent and nice group of gearheads. We are in engine builder in Rockdale, IL, and have built several 348's and 409's in addition to many other engines of varying makes and sizes. Here is a link to some...
