    Chrome Wheels Option?

I had no idea so few sets were made. My aunt ordered this option on her '63 Impala SS 340hp/409 when she ordered it from the dealer in Brooklyn, Iowa back then. It's been several years but I remember seeing them in their garage about 10 years ago. No idea if my aunt and uncle still have them around.

    What's the secret?

Yep, my dad was running low 12's way back then too but he had a Potvin cam, Jes Tyree headers, 5:38 gears and those hard M&H Racemasters. Pretty impressive what those engines are capable of.

He pulled it apart every winter to check things out and re-ring it but they were still the same stock pieces Chevy put in it at the...

    Redline?

I can only go by what my dad has told me many times over the years but according to him he used to launch his 409 anywhere between 6000 - 6500, shift right at 8000 and run it out the back at close to 8500rpm. He's not one to BS about such things. I've heard the same numbers from my aunt who made...

Trying to track down my dad's old '62 Impala 409/409

Hello all, I just ran across the site a few days ago and liked what I saw. My dad used to own a '62 Impala SS 409hp/409 and I'm curious whatever happened to it since he sold it back in the 70's. Here's what I know about the car: My dad, Darwin Busch, bought the car used in, I think...
