    Rotten Rear Body Mounts

Hey all, I managed to get the body off the frame on my "62 Impala project, and found that the rear body mounts on the body, (behind the rear wheels) are both bad. Does anyone reproduce these? Thanks in advance for you responses.

    Powergen alternator reviews and fitment

I'm thinking of using the Powergen alternator ( that looks like a generator) on my '62 409 build. I realize I won't fool the experts, but I like the "look" of originality that it offers. Has anyone used this on their cars? Pros and cons? Does it fit stock GM generator brackets? Thanks in...

    409 Is Home!

Thanks for all the nice comments and encouragement. We ran the engine a couple of weeks ago, so I'd have to dig up the dyno pulls to verify torque and horsepower. Going from memory, I thought we calculated about 365 horsepower at 5000 RPM. Not a pro-stocker by any means, but I'm building this...

Seat ID One has the chrome band around the seat, one does not. Did all '65 seats have the band?

    409 Is Home!

Hey all, As some you may know, I'm building a '62 Impala. Although I've owned lots of small-block cars, this is my first 409. It's a '65 truck block that I had built at Bay Speed Center in DePere, Wisconsin. Mike and his staff were kind enough to take a few pictures during the build, and I...

    Bucket seat identification

Hi all, I have some seats that I am unsure of the year of. They all look to be full size seats, but based on previous discussion, they are not '62 seats. Both sets of these fold straight forward, not at an angle. Here's some pics:

    1962 Hardtop disassembly

Hey all, disassembling my '62 hardtop and have a few questions. Any help greatly appreciated, pics will be coming soon! 1. How does the trim below the driprail, above the window come apart? Any tips for removal? 2. I have two bucket seats that came with the car, one with the chrome band...

honduras maroon...or something with more "pop"

1962 Paint codes - PPG formulas anyone? Does anyone have access to the base/clear formulas by PPG, specifically hondouras maroon? I'm thinking I may spray a test card with the original color so that I don't stray too far from the original. Thanks!
