I have been a car nut since I was 8 years old and my sisters boy friends used to come around in 51 Mercs and Model A's.
Had a number of nice cars when younger including 64 and 66 GTO's,
61 bbl top Impala, 60-63-65-67 Corvettes. Had to give cars up till kids were grown and I retired. Since then have completed resto-moding a 62 corvette that has custom chassis with C-4 corvette suspension a GM ZZ-383 crate motor with Arizona Speed and Marine retro style electronic fuel injection, and a tremec 5-speed.
A little over a year ago I was able to get my ALL TIME FAVORITE ride. A 62 Belair bubbletop 409/409. Car had been frame off restored and is beautiful. Since I'm a hot rodder at heart I couldn't leave it alone, added a bigger (maybe too big) cam and 8" steel rims (left dog dish hubs in place). Still trying to get it to run as I think it should and enjoying every opportunity to work on it. Just wish I had more knowledge and skill--really appreciate all the info and help I've gotten on the 348-409 forum.
