    Unexpected 63 Impala Project

I did a lot of research into Evans before I decided to try it, the boiling point is around 350 degrees F so it won't boil. The BTU transfer rate is slightly less than a water antifreeze mix which is the negative, I talked to an Evans rep and he said that it eliminates hot spots where water /...

    Unexpected 63 Impala Project

The corrosion elimination was my main reason as well, you have a vintage 409 block and it's been subjected to 50 years of various combinations of water and anti freeze and who knows how bad it is inside, at least under my ownership, it won't get any worse.

I guess you're not running a thermostat, I put a Milodon high flow 180 in mine.

    Unexpected 63 Impala Project

Nice work!! I just got my 35 Chevy on the road with my Jack Gibbs built stroker 409. Sounds like you went through a bit of hell there, I can relate to that. Sometimes you've got to walk away from it for awhile. Good choice on the Griffin radiator, that's what I got for my 35, I'm running Evans...

1935 Chevy Master 409 Stroker Project

Yes, and Magnaflows will going into mine as soon as I can get it into Sandersons, which might not be till the beginning of June. They do good work so they're always booked up. I bought the mufflers so that was my fault...:doh

1935 Chevy Master 409 Stroker Project

Passengers side during installation. Drivers side. Ready to start! After the first trip! It runs great! there was only one problem, I used Dynomax VT mufflers, they have a spring loaded valve that's supposed to cut down the noise and reverberation at low speeds and open for full flow at...

1935 Chevy Master 409 Stroker Project

I just went out there with a tape measure, there's just not enough room there to put tubes that long on my car, so I'll get whatever they can fit at this point. :rub

1935 Chevy Master 409 Stroker Project

(but i've been testing mine for 3 years now..............) That's good to know:). It's going to be a handful, I know that. I used to love to go to Fremont and watch the Gassers, half the battle was staying in their lane. My car is right around 3000 lbs, if I can put it to the pavement, I could...
