Fan belt for '58 348 with power steering?

Frank, My Gen/PS unit is mounted with the stock brackets on the front of the driver side head and the stock 348 exhaust manifold. Since the power steering unit is OEM to this vehicle.

Fan belt for '58 348 with power steering?

I purchased my 348 Gen/PS belt for my 58 from a local parts store. It's a Gates Premium XL 25-7570 these are made in the USA and with that size belt my Gen/PS unit lands in the middle of the adjustment bracket. That might work for you.

Anyone else have hose slipping off 3 x 2 bypass fitting?

A lot of good idea's for sure on that by-pass fitting. My approach (since I didn't know about those other techniques) was to lightly grind off the paint coating on the end and apply a bead of JB weld and shape it to mimic the flare of a regular hose fitting (like the one that gets screwed into...

Advice seeking for engine shut off

Robert, I'd have a look inside the bulkhead connectors anyway for the possibility of pushed pin(s) or overall condition? Also, maybe check the coil wires for any loose connections?

    348/409 motor guru

I might have asked the question wrong. Maybe I should have asked for a good local reputable shop that knows about W motors and have worked on them via ole school.

    348/409 motor guru

It will certainly be a hard decision to make Randy. My motor has been built up some what so it's sort of in the middle of them.

    348/409 motor guru

I'm looking for a local W motor guru in the PNW (Wa state) preferably on the west side of the state. Anyone know of one? Thanks in advance

    True or false???

I think the "witness" was referring to the 327 with the 4bbl carb wasn't available until 64. Possibly the 327 with the 2bbl carb was available in the 62 Belair's. (I liked Melissa in that flick)

1958 impala windshield and back glass

Meyer, Could you provide some picture's of the gap between the "real and glass in the problem corner" and of the packaging that the rear glass seal came in to see if they had "sent" you the seal that was "purchased for a 58 Impala HT". thank you-

1958 impala windshield and back glass

That's good that the new clips match the originals. It's looking more like the rear glass seal might be the problem. Do you have any information on who you purchased it from (which manufacturer?) and if it was identified to be the one for your year and model? Let's see if you have the correct...

1958 impala windshield and back glass

Meyer, Could you take a thin metal ruler and (carefully) take a measurement at the crease of pinch weld to the back window and check the length of the portion of the clip that is sticking out under the glass seal. Compare that length with one of your old original clips and see if they match...

1958 impala windshield and back glass

Okay Meyer, You say that you put the correct clips in all the original locations and they are identical like the old original ones (what was wrong with the old ones?). Then which clips are failing and not allowing the trim to stay in them? What is the condition of the trim pieces? were they...

1958 impala windshield and back glass

Meyer, There might be a couple of things causing that. A few questions first; How many clips total did you install in the back window opening? were the clips you installed identified properly for your application (i.e. were they for your car)? and were the clips installed so that they make...

Need help with my 58 Impala hood adjustment

Yes, My hinges are the originals to the car and were verified by Willie Wilson when he had restored them. When I was first having this trouble, he asked me to send him picture's of the hinges to check that the gears and teeth were clocked properly (as he does a lot of hinge restorations) and...
