    62 mystery tube

ragtp66: That sure appears to be the thing I am looking for. Thanks a bunch. I will head down there tomorrow and check it out or just order one and see what I get. It has the same construction as the original. I have searched a bit in the yards but came up empty. But I was only looking at mid...

    62 mystery tube

The hose does not go over a tube on the motor. It is built like a grommet and slips into a hole in the side of the motor. Thanks for all the advice.

The stuff I used was 8011 weatherstrip adhesive. Have not tried Form-A-Gasket. I have used Right Stuff as gasket sealer and I think I still have some and may give that a try. Thanks to both of you guys.

    62 mystery tube

In the photo you can see a rubber vent tube on the htr/def blower motor. Anyone know who may reproduce or supply one? Mine keeps falling off. Luckily it lands on the frame and I have been able to retrieve it but I can't be lucky forever. Weatherstrip adhesive has helped but it still gets loose...

    Now I've seen it all!

There is a long discussion thread on this subject on another site I belong to. It is not uncommon. The general rule, according to several people is toss the tires after 10 years; 6 if subjected to a hot climate. Regardless of miles driven. Not my opinion necessarily. I am just the messenger.

    New build 62 Impala SS

Glad to hear you got it sorted out. My car is posted on the Introduction section; about a week ago.

    New build 62 Impala SS

I am new here and trying to get caught up on things. I went through your posts this morning and wondering if you got the transmission fit issue resolved. The trans in the photo looks like the 64 and later unit which has a longer output housing. I may be mistaken, but I believe the input and...

Don: I know you are having fun. Me too. The shop was built on my property by a previous owner. I bought the place primarily because of the shop. I bought a 2400 sq. ft. shop that came with a detached 3 bedroom house.

Bobs: I have a 66 C2 2 door post that is mist blue: boring! Marina is a better choice. Some don't like the yellow but I love it. Mine has a black interior with buckets. I have the build sheet showing the car was ordered with that option. No console like the SS of course or floor shifter but it...

OK Don; I'm all over it. Does this look better? New LED lighting about a month ago. I will clean the cars next and post the results. Off topic but that 2003 truck has 36K miles. Don't drive it much either.

I checked the miles driven for the yellow car in my log book and have averaged 270 miles/year over the last 10 years. I live in the rainy NW and never drive these cars in the rain so they don't get much exercise. I have not washed the yellow one since 2006 and the Impala arrived clean from a...

Iowa: I too am a card carrying deplorable. You can smell me when you walk into a Walmart. And good numbers for a 4200 pounder by the way.

Thanks Bobs. Not the 409 I have always dreamed of but I love it anyway. And thanks to you also Don. I have enjoyed this site for quite some time and finally decided to jump on board.
