If you plan using stock steering linkage with 3/4 forward your gonna probably hit the pan. Ran into this problem with my dad 55 bel air.

That gasket is for the 690/583 heads which have bigger intake openings. You need the small intake gasket for all 348 car/truck or 409 low horsepower car/truck.

I went to Nevada City last year with my father to buy a 409 crankshaft. The person also built boat motors like the pictured.

I'm using stock 2.5 inch manifolds with no problems. But I'm using 3/4 forward mounts that can move the engine left or right 1/4 inch.

Tried this already with no luck being that motor is forward 3/4 inch and stock steering linkage. It might work in stock location for the motor.
