    Your photo of the casting number looks exactly like mine, the casting date on mine is K-25-61. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond, I was sure someone would know why.

    I'll bet someone here has an idea why. I bought a complete 1962 409, I'm talking carbs to pan, generator, fan, dist.. All numbers are there and appear correct, but the block casting number, 3788068, the 88 appears to be ground off and then 88 is then stamped on the block, all the other numbers...

    Thanks to Don J.. It first seemed like it would be an easy swap, but when I noticed the starter for the 348 bolted to the bellhousing and the 409 starter bolted to the block???? When Tom K. asked "if I could" post some pictures I smiled, he must know me, I have no idea how to post some pictures...

    Edelbrock 2x4 on a 348

    I have a 1961 Chevy Biscayne 2dr. with a 350 horse 348, which means it has 3781147 heads, and tri power. I want to put an Edelbrock 2x4 set on it. Are the ports on these heads considered small port or large port?
