8 Carb manifold on 409

This is with 8 97s, linkage about done and fuel line.

Just got my 8 carb manifold back from the shop. Will show more pictures as available

Here is the new linkage. Now the shaft is 3/8”. Made all new linkage arms and new ball bearings. This should work very smooth with eight carburetors. Still don’t have the new 8 carb manifold back . But busy rebuilding Stromberg 97s. Bought another 1/2 dozen and going to use the best one’s.

The glide s Working . I have updated to Roller rockers. Stainless steel larger Valves and 8” tiires. Because I am now going straight , my time dropped To 6.7 at 110 mph in the 1/8th . Quite a thrill. I Am now building an 8 two barrel manilfold For it. I’ll show my card board mock Up.

OK I have the 334-7202 studs , Will permatext be enough, or do I use permatex on the lower 1/2 and plastic sealer on top 1/2?

Is the 8* and 12* the angle of the stud, or the angle of the stud boss? or are both angled? Howard

If I use the Carl McQuillen plates, do I just mill the 4 exhaust stud bosses? or all 8 and put washes under the 4 intakes? So looks like I have made a mistake, I have the bosses milled flat. to put screw in studs. Not 8* on intakes and 12* on exhaust. which way do they angle? I could have...

What pushrod guide plates did you use? What about show cars, one piece unit 5919? How thick are they? Does the rocker arm stud threads have to be longer, than .750? Are BBC plates different than 409? Thanks Howard

Thanks for all the great ideas. I used the Hurst front mount idea and welded on new ears. the front was easier than the rear plate. I did find out that 409, stock front engines mounts holes are different from big blocks. The last race at Toutle, put another push rod thru the rocker arm, and now...
