I don't get why or how air/solenoid shifters and delay boxes became a thing. I always thought driving a car was should be a big part of auto racing. That's why I like midgets and sprint cars. Zero electronics and aids. Just a huge power to weight ratio and skill.

Clean it up with some fine steel wool or aluminum foil and then polish with some slightly worn 400 grit. Light pitting on the bearing journals in those small areas won't hurt anything. The lobes are a different story but there really doesn't seem to be any on them.

Since it’s a mild build, just go with a set of icon or Ross. They’ll be less than half the price of a set of CP pistons. I was given a rough quote of 1900 without pins for my CP pistons.

I wouldn’t take their advice. Fuel systems are Like drivetrain components in that bigger is always better.
