    Thanks Jim, for taking the time to answer my 409 overheating trouble, I have a 180 in there now, but will try the 165 next, also, do you know what pulley one of the guys used to turn the water pump faster?...I have been on line and down at the speed shop in town with no luck....thanks again, JR

    Mick,.... thanks for chimming in on my overheating 409, it is an almost stock 400HP, solid cam, electronic ignition, timing is set where under full throttle it does not ping. It does have a vacuum advance, but was disconnected years ago, radiator is new( alum, down flow), as is alum water pump. JR

    Super Sport,& John, You could get a 327 300HP, 4 speed with A/C, and you are correct, the 409 400HP, and 409 425HP, was not offered with A/C, nor was the powerglide with those to motor's, you could however get a 409-340HP with A/C, 4 speed or powerglide. Hope this helps with your...
