not sure if you have your starter problem fixed, but i have the same basic set up. i use a 153 tooth flywheel and a mini starter. i redrilled and taped my block. its been in service for four years and looks good as new. good luck Mike Matheos
my 8.5 compression is actual compression figured with a block of lexan on top of the cyl. and filling it with washer fluid to measure volume. i figured it after the block was decked. i decked the block so i would have zero deck. the piston comes to the top of the block. its hard to get higher...

the teeth that are still on the gear don"t look bad. i agree with earlier posts that the oil pump bound up for some reason. when you try to turn it now with an oil pump primer will it turn freely. looks to me like the pump locked up and the gear was the weakest link. heavy oil would have...
Great story and video thank you
my dad was the bottom ball turret gunner on a B-17. he joined the air force the day he graduated from high school. he didn't talk much about the war but i saw lots of pictures he brought back of shot up planes. his family came from Greece and my dad was a small...

it takes a few hours to warm the oven up so we will have plenty of time for a few cocktails and a shop tour and a falcon ride. (the falcon ride before the cocktails) our refreshment of choice are
margaritas. but anything goes at our house and anyone from this group is always welcome.
When I'm not in the shop my wife Sylvia and i like cooking and entertaining. i have built her two brick ovens in the last few years. the first was an outdoor oven and last year i took down our fireplace and put an oven it its place.

your car is amazing. is that an original color? and if it is what was it called? the color fits the car and trim perfectly. when someone says "they don't build them like the used to" they must be looking at your car. i'm not sure whats wrong with your mill but i would be happy to help fix it...
I have been a car guy all my life. My dad had a Sohio service station that kept me busy learning about cars and work. we also lived on a farm so it was a double helping of work. when i was in high school there were three Gassers in the student parking lot. one was a 52 Chevy with a Cadillac...

your numbers look great. i have a similar motor in my falcon. with unported heads it made 480 hp. its a 348 block bored out .040 with a 427 crank. i used the same intake you have and tried 660 carbs and 450 carbs. the 660s were good for about 20 horsepower but suck down lots more fuel. i...
