Hello again,
seems I always need help. Just bought a water pump from Speedway. Did not do my due diligence. it is different then the one on the motor (shorter). From Block to pulley the old is 6 1/4" and the new is 5" . Any suggestions - can I still use the new one? Is there a spacer I can...
Wow again - I am impressed - getting the alternator down like that would be great - not sure I can manage that but I am going to take a look for sure. I had to extend my oil filler because the alternator is so tight. Just shows you need to think outside the box.
Thx
Noel
Thank you for your input Don - like I have said before I am a novice at this and I will bounce these suggestions off my "car guys" before I make any decisions - I do agree - don't want to have a nice looking motor that doesn't run...lol

Hey Gofish - is the picture you sent a Model A? If so, and it's not asking too much I would be interested in seeing a bigger one showing the alternator location.
Thx again.
Noel
Thanks John - I was looking for an alternative location for the Temp sender - just trying to keep the wires out of sight. I will use the oil sending location for sure.
Noel
Wow - appreciate all the good information and "likes" of my truck.
John, I thought the that the plug near the oil filter might be usable for the sender so thanks for that. I was trying to keep wires out of site. That's one looked after - could you send me a pic showing where the temp port is...
Thanks for the feedback guys - much appreciated. I will be going at it pretty hard over the next month or so - you may here from me again. I attached before and after pics - I purchased the Red version in Dec 2013. The bones were there -348/powerglide/9 inch rear. I have had a lot of fun - it...
Hello fellow W blockers...
I am in the process of rewiring my truck. At the same time I am going to try to do a little maintenance that is probably overdue. Last season I found that the truck temperature was fluctuating more than it had in the past and there seem to be a little more noise...
Just replaced gaskets for Fuel Pump - noticed a number on the Block (TD624 7C). Nothing critical I am sure - just curious - Does anyone know what it might represent?
Thanks.
Noel
Thanks tom you both I will use you advice and see where it takes me - I currently have them at approx. 1.75 turns (also new plugs Ac Delco R45 Xls at .35) and the truck is running not bad. Not sure but I think the new plugs are the main contributor right now.
Thanks again for your advice.
Noel
Hello out there,
As a novice I am trying to pick some brains to keep my 348 running reasonably well. I have had it for just over 2 years and it has been an "off" again "on" again relationship. The motor is a little tired ( I have been told by a local mechanic who everyone says is good at his...
