    Hey Franz, that 409 runs as good or better than it looks, I helped Jim put it on the dyno.:) ........ just don't let enyone mess with the carbs or the timing. It's all ready to move one of those mountains. Dave

    Thinking about a 5 speed again !

    When first installed the 409 & 700R4 the car had 3.36 gears in it. I wasn't happy with it because I never would get the trans into hi gear around town. On the freeway I had to be going 70 or so MPH for it to be happy. For my driving which I'm guessing is 70% around town or on secondary roads...

    All the engines at Jim's shop get the blasted & bake treatment. They get magged there as well. The flathead cracks were probably there before.
