Vacuum is plugged. The distributor just has no vacuum advance hooked up but ",runs well" in neutral. Still working on it now so it's not on the road to see under a load

Have a dual quad 409, Edelbrock carbs, four-speed manual. The vacuum advance is not hooked up on the distributor. The car starts up I give it gas it rubs pretty good. If I plug a vacuum line to the vacuum advance pot on the distributor it runs like absolute garbage. I did not build this engine...

Oh, I know how that is, my forum (non car) had a glitch and with 40k members I knew it the second it happened. Hosting migrated to a new server, still had the domain pointed at the old DNS and .... They rest the freaking DB password so trying to log into myphp was a no go. Got a few more grey hairs

Yes yes, it runs like every other engine I had but the guy I bought it from kept repeating who built it.

So, I found out that's who built my 409. Does that carry any weight with the 409 crowd? I have my first 409 and found this out.

Might not be 409's but it's car related

No where near finished but it's the look I want. I do not want the oval air cleaner element like Ford. This is not sanded and polished but I wanted to make sure it fit. I just sprayed some black to see the engraving.

From there, now in Georgia. I miss it but glad I'm not living there.

I'll see how the rest turns out. It still uses 2 of the 6 3/8 air cleaners, I just didn't want an oval like the cobras. They remind me too much of Ford's.

I engraved/milled a new cover for the dual quad. It will look better when I polish it and do the infill.
