I have a 1963 BelAir 409/400hp. what would be the best Edelbrock Carb. to buy new.
what date code is your car/engine stamp ? 63 car it is 3499 to early -64 400 hp late 64-65 400hp then 3783. I have a M4 (dec 64 model year) complete but will need rebuilt.

Fix/rebuild the original 3783 carb, very nice looking car you have. 2 chamber series 40 flowmaster inside the car (409/380hp)

Notched 068 block
yes Curt Harvey did a say that as do others. Gibbs was specific about the 068 truck block, cant remember at the moment

just my thought but think about about what we are saying....maybe the the B version matched up with the 3804 replacement of the 3362??

if you zoom in on the pads you will an A version of 3362 and B version of 3361.

I have only seen A or B revision, it is also referenced in chevrolet by the numbers author Alan Colvin

3361 front carb no choke, A would be first level of engineering revision, M is december, 1 is 1961... so 1962 model.
