North Texas Machine Shop Recommendations (or warnings)?

Arch, the machine shop is in Lavon Texas. Watt Bigham is the owner and he does good work. 972-849-7771 His work load can get pretty heavy sometimes and it might take longer then one would think but he's worth the wait if you have the time. Ron Haffner 972-658-5341

    ignition coil

The answer is: I talked with MSD today and they said if it was on the horizontal, the coil would burn up because the oil did not cover the winding. In order to have a horizontal coil one would have to have an epoxy filled coil to eliminate the oil. Ron Haffner

    ignition coil

Can a standard 12 volt ignition coil be installed in the horizontal position? Somewhere in my past I think I've seen them on an intake manifold. Any reason why not? The oil level should still cover the windings? Thanks. Ron Haffner

PSIG engine build I joined the forum shortly after I purchased the motor, I did not have a clue how to build this motor. As I've stated earlier if it were not for this site and the information I researched and the helping hand from the members the motor would still be in pieces. Right or wrong...

    Bypass-canister information needed - asap

by pass One way to filter all of the oil is to remove the spring and disc in the by pass, tap it for a 3/8" plug. Now all the oil goes through the filter. Down side is that one has to watch the oil pressure in case the filter gets plugged. But wise drivers as we are watch a lot. Ron Haffner

    62 truck tranny swap

skip My 61 started life with the 6 cyl. and std 3 speed I made the swap V 8 and 4 speed and set everything with the rear mounts that are located on the 6 cyl bell housing, those were left in the original position this insured that the drive shaft would fit and the engine would clear the fire...
