Online buddy posted this to facebook. "Sniper 1" with a W motor in it.

Love the Evening Orchid Corvair convertible!

Anyone else have hose slipping off 3 x 2 bypass fitting?

    A knurled finish also works.

    75 And Still Pulling Gears

Might want to watch Ray's left leg on the pass to see how he handles the clutchless trans. ;) Amazing car and racer! :)

    Some recent dyno work

Grumpy did the early development work on the splayed valve heads using the 4.3L V6 as the cylinder case. There was a lot of early success with those heads in Competition Eliminator application with both Bob Kaiser and Steve Johns running them....Steve Johns won the Competition Eliminator World...

    Some recent dyno work

It's been a week long project but this one got finished up on the dyno yesterday: It's a SBC (kinda' ;)) based on a G.M. 'Aurora' Oldsmobile (kinda' ;))block originally designed for IRL racing. The block isn't cast iron..it's a CG (compacted graphite) block. The blocks were delivered with...

    “New” Intake

The BSFC numbers are high but stable with both intakes...no red flags, there. There's a bunch of power left by getting the BSFC numbers down into the mid .4's. More than most would think. ;)

    Still high oil consumption??

Seven with around 25% leakage and one with 60%? Pretty sure you've found the problem.......;)

    “New” Intake

As you know, when the brake loads the engine on the dyno, things can get interesting in a hurry. One other thing is to check with the dyno shop and see where the water brake servo was at for percentage of load. Ideally, you want it to be at 90%. If it's not, harmonics can be induced because of...

    “New” Intake

Dan, we had a similar issue with a BBC Super Stock engine on the dyno. The springs were fresh and were the same as what had come off. I'll spare you all the gorey details and get right to the meat and potatoes of it: shimming the springs to actually 'stack up' a couple of coils at max. lift...

    “New” Intake

Looking forward to your results. You can't be a 'soft and smooth' type to tackle a project like that. Well done, sir!

    Line2Line Coatings

Line2Line does a great job. Several engines on the dyno have had the pistons coated by them on the initial build. Cylinders look like new even after some hard dyno time....like this recent 283-220 Super Stock engine.
