In 1961, after I ordered my 1962 Ipmala SS 409/409 convertable, I went on a tour of the St Louis assembly plant. Got to walk along the assembly line and see a cars frame have all parts attached and then was startled to see the body drop down thru an opening in the ceiling right on to the assembled frame. Continued walking on and saw the competion of the car. At the end of the line someone would get in the car and start it and drive onto rollers for a test. As I was leaving the last car wouldn't start and had to be pushed away. Was a memorable experience.
