That 's looking very nice. You have made great progress in less than a year. That will be a nice car, keep the picture's coming. I only saw one 63 ss in that color combo back in the day when new, but i liked that color.

Had SOME in the trunk pan. Replaced the bottom half. Some surface pitting where the metal had been left bare, but other than that it was incredibly rust free.

Today's work. Will let the paint cure and harden for a couple of months now before color & block sanding. Buffing will be the last step before the trim starts going on. Wire harness will be next on the body side. Motor arrives by mid October or before.

It is my intention to finish this car as I envision what might have been in the mid to late 60's as a street/drag racer. Due to the condition of the heater system (needs total reconditioning), the butchered radio grill and no radio, I went with the "delete" option for the build. The clock was no good, so went the clock delete as well (original piece with original plug). Started on the dash yesterday while the motor will ship from J. Gibbs this month. The interior will stay restored original, as well as the overall appearance from the outside. Purists won't approve, but this is what I might have done back in the day when these puppies were inexpensive!

Looks great to me. I went the heater/clock/lighter route as well although I think I am going to hide an accessory outlet in the glove box. You can get a little electric heater that plugs into one to use only when you'll need a defroster. Cheap and easy to only install when you have to.

Dash is the original dash pad refinished by Just Dashes. Really pleased with it but is a out $350 more than a repo.

I had the same place do my son's padded dash on his 64 impala twenty year's ago too. Sent in core and they did a very good job. I was thinking $400.00 and it still look's good.I think repo are not steel cored.
