I just called and got reservations for the Red Roof inn, $96.99 per night for the 16,17 &18. Don't give up, I just took a chance.

I guess I scared them when I asked for 50 rooms, Sonya told me they were all booked up, if you can get in there you won't get it any cheaper, maybe Motel 6 across the street,

Guys if you want me to lock the 35 rooms at the Drury Inn let me know they have a breakfast and an evening get together with 3 alcoholic beverages and some kind of finger foods ie, nachos, chips, different kinds of snacks included in the price, somewhere around 148 per night including taxes, still looking but they want a contract/commitment signed and not really giving us a deal just will hold the rooms

Martin et al......yes, we need a minimum of 16 committed race cars to make our class. Ideally, it would be nice to have as many as 32.

Regarding the owner and car profile sheet and car photo, they should be sent to Brian Labombard (BSL409). He will be collecting this information for us. Please send to him the following information: driver's name; address; age; car make, model, engine specifications or any other stand out characteristics you want known about your car, ie. had it since high school, original owner, survivor car, copo, etc. Also, if there's any additional personal info you want noted such as a father and son team or that you 've been racing for 30 years, etc. please feel free to include.

This compiled information will be used by the announcer in the tower when you go to stage your car for the race. It also might be used in a promotion piece so be sure to include a high resolution picture of your car so a good quality copy can be produced.

A commitment and this profile information must be sent to Brian as soon as possible but no later than Sept. 7 .

I'm guessing that we should be able to put together a 32 car field. :rub
I'm sure there are several racers that aren't yet aware that we've been invited to this event. I'm also guessing that there are a lot of guys that know about the event but aren't ready to commit just yet.

This is a major event and I think we are fortunate to get an invitation. The organisers were obviously impressed by the cars and organisation at the Mason/Dixon race. :clap

It looks like they would like to get some signs of commitment from our group ASAP which is understandable. Fortunately, it looks like we already have quite a few that want to go. :beer

The 348/409 cars are always a hit with the crowds so I think our cars will be a great addition to the Hot Rod Reunion. :clap

I'm a real dunce when it comes to booking hotels. ( I don't go anywhere ), I took a shot at booking a room ,,,, Ramada Inn, 3 nights= a total of $260.27...... thru Hotwire. I tried a couple of other motels and when I tried to execute, the details said " Pay now--- non-refundable". I did not like that so I chose Hotwire and have it in writing that bill will be paid at the hotel and can be cancelled at any time with no penalty. For all I know the Ramada may be a real dive, I don't know, just took a gamble. I probably should have waited but I think it will really be hard to find a room next Spring, so , like I said, a gamble.

Add PVS409 (Paul Stensland ) 1962 Chevy Impala SS 409/482 cubic inch 4 speed
to the list.

How far is the Drury Inn from the track ?
Having not been there can the cars be left at the track overnight safely ?
Paul
