Lip seal or 'O' ring.....:rub.....what do you use???
I'm told the 'O' ring is more driver friendly due to out of round rotors that cause the pistons to move in/out slightly - apparently the lip seals will suck air more easily........:confused.
Not worried about originality......:read
Good arguments both sides........:scratch

The only time that I can remember rebuilding any of those early calipers[67 ChevyII],I used the lip seals,as that's all that was available.I wouldn't have any problems using the "o" ring seals, but will not do brakes without machining the rotors.I hate any brake "pulsation" or "shudder"!

O ring is supposedly better but just buy the rebuilt sleeved calipers and be done with it. Lone star caliper is a very good source, you can get either style from them.
Either will suck in air if rotor runout is greater then 8-9 thou or so.

Most Corvettes I work on the rear wheel bearings are so loose that you can't get a good pedal on them.
I have used the O ring calipers and they have worked good on cars that don't get drove much.
