Has anyone run into this situation...fan blade comes very close to hitting the power steering pump pulley nut. I did use a 1/8 in. Spacer between the block and power steering pump bracket to get pulley’s to line up.all the items are supposed to be correct.

Space the fan a little further forward.
I agree with Don, move the fan away (Show Cars sells spacers for the fan)

My 62 409 with all original deep groove upper and lower pulleys and the factory 409 ps pulley & pump like you have. I have over 1inch of clearance to aftermarket 7 bladed fan ( original 5 bladed fan cleared by over 1/2 inch)

Called Showcars today and they said they do not have a spacer that goes between the water pump and the clutch. Just wondering if someone else makes a spacer that would move the fan forward.

Show cars pn 6515 they are about 8.00 each so I'd suggest getting 2 or 3 of them.Mount then between the fan clutch and pulley.

these Show Car spacers should work. I used at least one of them on my 62 SS 409 for my water pump pulleys between the pulleys or under the first pulley.
As Don just noted for 1/16 inch spacer part # 6515

These spacers can be put under the fan mount (might need 4 longer fine thread mounting bolts for the fan
I recognize they will be visible (assuming the pulleys are were you want them)

Sizes are -- 1/16 . 1/4 inch, and 1/8 inch (part #'s 6520, 6522 & 6521 )

Use enough to solve your issues.Once the clearance that you need is established, take them out and paint them the same color as the pulley. This will make them much less noticeable.Anyone who makes despairaging comments should be told to"pound sand"! Phil may very well be right about the hub being pressed too far down, but that's gonna be tough to fix at home.
