Trunk compartment of a Z11

Can anyone post a pic of the factory installed battery in the trunk of a Z11. Ive seen a black and white fuzzy pic, but I would like to see what kind of tray and hold downs were used, if possible

Z-11’s did not have factory-installed trunk mounted batteries. They were up front just like every other ‘63 Chevy. Take a look at some of the Chrysler Max Wedge cars for a nice, sanitary trunk-mount battery installation.

Oh, did not know that. I seen this old black and white article that featured a Z11 with a tartop Delco battery in the trunk. I guess I just assumed it was that way from the factory. Im real familiar with the Super Stock Mopar battery setups, I grew up around Mopar race cars. Those are big batteries

If you look at the Jackshaw Chevrolet z11 restoration on this forum you can see that a battery was installed in the trunk for additional weight while at the same time a hollowed out Delco display battery was left in the original location to keep the appearance of being “stock”. It’s a good bet that most of the top racers employed this same tactic.
